THIEN MU PAGODA + IMPERIAL CITADEL TOUR
Pick up from hotel in Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam. A boat trip on the romantically named Perfume River visits Hue’s best-known religious site, Thien Mu Pagoda. Return to dry land to visit the Imperial Citadel from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. After access the Ngo Mon Gate, you will take in the Purple Forbidden City. The Forbbiden City was reserved for the Nguyen royal family from the 18th century until the mid-1900s. Unfortunately, American bombing in 1968 in response to a communist takeover of Huế flattened most of the city. As you can see, only a few buildings are survived such as the Thai Hoa Temple, Can Thanh Temple, The Mieu, and Hieu Lam Cac, but all the remains make a well worth visit. And then you explore lively Dong Ba Market.
